Abraham Lincoln Maze
Illinois, with license plates proclaiming "Land of Lincoln" takes on a new and important
meaning this year, marking the 200th birthday of our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.
We honor Lincoln for his honesty, reliability and good character. Carl Sandburg
wrote of Lincoln as "a man of steel and velvet-hard as rock and soft as drifting
fog". Commercial enterprises have borrowed the Lincoln name to project his noble
qualities onto their products-Lincoln cars, Lincoln hotels, Lincoln Logs and many
towns named Lincoln.
Our maze design shows various phases of Lincoln’s remarkable life: his self-education, gained through constant reading (even during breaks from work); his rise to the status of respected lawyer and statesman in Illinois; and the apex of his life’s short journey, a difficult presidency in the unfinished Capitol building. Your journey here will be much simpler, but exciting all the same!

"Let's Go Flying" Maze
AOPA-Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association – was founded in the midst of the Great
Depression 70 years ago. It continues its importance in promoting general aviation
(primarily small planes) even today through education, information and representation.
Pilots love to share the joy of flight, seeing the world from above with freedom
from stoplights and traffic. Lots of planes fly over and look for landmarks –and
our World's Largest, most intricately designed maze is an a-maze-ing sight. On the
ground, you will use your map for your "flight plan". Have you ever thought about
learning to fly? Most airports offer introductory flights for about $50, so… "Let's
Go Flying"!
The Richardsons have 5 pilots in the family and are members of International Flying
Farmers, International Flying Rotarians, EAA and AOPA.

About Our Mazes |
|
This is the World’s Largest Corn Maze, but don’t let the size scare you. The maze
is designed in sections of smaller mazes so you can do as much as you want and then
get out easily. The smallest part has quiz questions to help guide you through and
usually takes under half an hour to complete. The mazes are not one way in and one
way out. The trails loop around and connect so it’s relatively easy to get out of
even our most complex maze. Finding all the checkpoints is the real challenge!
Solving the maze is a wholesome, country adventure that you’re sure to enjoy. Every
year we strive to improve and expand our entertainment offerings at our corn maze
while still keeping that country feel. Our picnic area and free campfires continue
to be hugely popular. The big top tent by the concession barn is a great place to
eat, visit with friends and stay out of the elements. Some folks say the giant 50’
long slide is worth the price of admission alone and there are also free pedal carts
and a free, huge, 50’ tall observation tower so you can see the aerial view of the
corn maze and our entire farm. We are one of only a very few mazes in the country
that is open late every night for a whole new twist on “corn mazing”. There’s nothing
quite like finding your way through the mazes with flashlights or the light of the
moon under the starry sky and after, cooking s’mores over a campfire.
