Choose and harvest your own Christmas Tree, and you'll know it's FRESH!  Our farm provides a great opportunity to renew the tradition of going out into the woods, choosing the perfect tree, and harvesting it for your family Christmas tree.  We have over 50,000 trees of many varieties and sizes spread over 75 acres.  Our spacious, heated sales barn has indoor restrooms and friendly people to assist you.

On weekends, we have free wagon rides to take you out into the fields and to bring you and your tree in after you have chosen the perfect one.  When you get back, we shake your tree to get the loose needles out and then we bale it in plastic netting to keep it manageable for the ride to your home.  Your tree is tagged and you receive a numbered receipt to preserve the identity of the tree while you go inside to enjoy a free hot chocolate or coffee.

There are hundreds of fresh wreaths and decorations inside for sale along with fresh, homemade donuts.  The majority of our wreaths, garland, decorations and bows are made on our farm.  We welcome custom orders.

  • Scotch and White Pine $44, Firs and Spruce $52
  • Select trees in the field available for as low as $29.
  • Precut trees, individually priced, available up to 12' high.

Trees for Troops, a program of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx Corp., is preparing to kick off its 2008 season, with plans to deliver 16,000 Real Christmas Trees to military service members and their families throughout the United States and overseas.

The Richardsons donate 25 trees each year and spend the day helping service men and women at Great Lakes Naval Station choose their perfect tree. We have several collection boxes on the farm where you may donate monies to support the Christmas Spirit Foundation. You may also purchase a tree to add to our donation and in addition, add your personal message on a card we will provide.

Donate a Christmas Tree for this year's Trees for Troops event.

Donate a tree for $40 plus tax ($42.80)- our special reduced rate - by December 7, 2008. The Fed Ex truck will be leaving our farm for Great Lakes Naval Base on December 8th.

Three ways you can donate:

  1. Call 815-675-9729 to place your request and make your payment. Email a short personalized note to be attached to your tree to info@RichardsonFarm.com

  2. Visit Richardson Christmas Trees and pick out a tree and write your own message on cards we provide. The Fed Ex truck will be parked on our farm December 5th through December 8th. You will be able to purchase a tree up through the departure date.

  3. Donate $$$ to the Christmas Spirit Foundation. This foundation supports Trees for Troops and other programs to spread the Christmas spirit. If you choose this option please visit www.christmasspiritfoundation.org to make your donation.

Our farm donates 25 Christmas trees as part of the nationwide program to deliver 16,000 trees to troops all across the U.S. and oversees. Our trees are being picked up December 8 and distributed to military service members and their families at Great Lakes Naval Base.

Please recycle your Christmas Tree. It is 100% recyclable.

Why a REAL TREE at Christmas?
They're Fresh, Fragrant and Real!
  • Tradition of real Christmas trees goes back over 150 years in our country.
  • Natural beauty and fragrance are celebrated. A real tree is like a bouquet of flowers, but lasts longer.
  • 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
  • Our environment is enhanced by the fresh, oxygenated air produced by trees. Through photosynthesis, the trees absorb carbon dioxide-laden air and emit oxygen. Young trees in their rapid growth years have a high rate of photosynthesis and thus produce more oxygen than older trees. When a Christmas tree is harvested, 2 to 3 new trees are planted.
